Cannot Unlock Maps, tried to reinstall

Connected my 1030 Plus to Garmin Express via my Mac and was prompted to update the maps.  I've since learned via the forums that this is apparently an error and no new maps were actually available, but I didn't know that at the time.  I went through the update process and now receive the "Cannot Unlock Maps" startup prompt.  I've tried the standard method to resolve this by re-installing the maps in GE but the issue persists.  I've even tried from a PC in case the issue was related to my Mac.  Any other suggestions to try before I reach out to Garmin support?
