Edge 1030 Plus will not power up

Hi, After an update on Garmin Express and charging the battery to 100% whilst connected to the Mac I unplugged my Edge 1030 Plus and it shutdown. Pressing the power button failed to start it. Holding the power button for >10 seconds failed to start it. Holding the power button for >30 seconds failed to start it. Holding down the Lap and Start buttons whilst pressing the power button for >30 seconds or thereabouts got me the Garmin logo on the screen as though it were starting up but then nothing else for several minutes so I pressed the power button again and it powered off. Now I can't get as far as the Garmin log as described above. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks

  • What I would try now:
    -mount the device to your Mac as USB drive
    -delete (first backup) all files in /courses, /activities and /Newfiles
    (since it is a 1030 PLUS there is no SD card to take out before booting)

    Thanks for the reply but the device will not even power on whether plugged into the Mac or not.

    Update: After repeatedly pressing and holding as described in my original post I am back to where I was with the Garmin logo on the screen but this time the device is plugged into the Mac. It has been displaying the logo screen for several minutes now. It has yet to show in the Finder on the Mac. I'm not sure if anything is happening at all.

    No change, still the Garmin logo on the screen and nothing else, not even the percentage charge is displayed.

    I think I got it to this state by holding the Lap and Start buttons and pressing and holding the power button for about 10 seconds. I am wondering now if it's waiting for input and if there is a button I can press to move it along?

    After waiting ~30 minutes staring at the Garmin name on the screen without any visible progress whatsoever I pressed and held the power button and the device powered off. I have repeated the above several times to power it on again without success. Trial and error and Interwebs searches ongoing.

    Power and the lower left button, both together for about 20 seconds. Then it will suddenly restart
