Auto start happening when on a table!

I have only had had my Plus for a few days and if I turn on a table (not connected to bike sensors etc) it will fairly quickly do an auto start and start recording a ride. I have had one ride with the device and it worked perfectly. When I got back home the ride I turned off the device after it had up loaded to Garmin Connect. I then put it on charge and everything seem fine then I heard that start noise and guess what it had auto started another ride!!!!

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

The reason for that behaviour is easy to explane: it is because your device is inside your home on a table!

Inside a house you will have no good GPS reception. That means: GPS jumps around the place and might trigger speeds more than 10 km/h. If you have timer start automatic enabled, an activity will be started automatically.

See a picture of the history line "track you have ridden" within the house, when the device lays on a table:

To avoid false activity start, chose "Prompted" in the Timer Start Mode section (not "Automatic"). In that case your Edge will beep and prompt to manually press the start button when the speed threshold was reached. You cannot miss this promt - it beeps over and over and shows a big blue arrow on the screen!

Thanks for your help, however the problem has stopped totally by raising the auto stop speed to 10KM/H or 6mph in old money. if all else fails I will try your solution. Thanks again.
