Does the Edge 1030 plus pair with multiple Edge remotes?

Does the Edge 1030 plus support pairing with multiple Edge remotes?

I had the case where my remote was paired with an Edge 130, then I bought the Edge 1030 plus and paired that same remote with the 1030 plus. After that the remote no longer worked with my 130.

Now I want to do the opposite. I bought a second bike and want to use an Edge remote on each bike. Can I pair my 1030 plus with both the remotes.
Thinking about it. It is easy to swap the Edge remote between the bikes but then I just need a second mount for the Edge remote. I don't know if such a mount can be purchased separately.

  • Can I pair my 1030 plus with both the remotes.

    No, you can‘t.
There are mounts available (just google) - they cost 10,- to 18,- euros!

When I bought my remote, there were 2 different mounts in the box!

  • Mine came with the Edge 130 MTB package. There was only one mount for the remote in the box.
18 euros is a lot, then I may decide to just buy the complete set. Then I have a remoted for each device.

  • You can pair two Edge remotes (mounted on two bikes) to the same Edge 1030 device.

    Below the procedure:

    • Pair the first Edge remote to the Edge device
    • When paired, you must “disable” (only temporarily) the Edge remote 1 (from its sensor menu), before pairing the second one
    • Now pair the second Edge remote to the Edge device
    • When done, you have to “re-activate” the first Edge remote.

At this point, you can use either the first or the second Edge remote (of course only one at a time); you cannot control the same Edge device with 2 Edge remotes at the same time.

In this way you are not forced to move Edge remote from bike 1 to bike 2.

Maybe (to be tested) the procedure could work with different Edge device (i.e. Edge 1030+ or 1000) and with more than 2 Edge remotes.

  • I‘ve tested your suggestion with my Edge 1030+ and you are right!
2 remotes are paired now and one of them connects when activated.
    Thumbsup

  • Happy it's working for Edge 1030+ too.

    Enjoy 2 remotes...

  • The opposite of

Remote control of another Edge unit steps:
    1. Press and hold the two buttons on the Remote at the same time to enter the pairing state
    2. Find the Remote on the Edge unit sensor and press connect
