Trail Forks App Questions

1. Is the Trail Forks app just for mountain bikes? I am never on gravel. I am always on asphalt. Especially quiet suburban streets and avenues. Do I really need the Trail Forks App? 2. With the Trail Forks App installed I am unable to update / upgrade my Garmin provided map collection. The option is greyed out. Should I un-install Trail Forks?
