Why does my Garmin edge eject from my laptop on its own.

I've had three garmis,the edge 1000, 1030 and a 1030 Plus and I have had this issue with all of them is it that Garman doesn't work well with Apple? I understand having this issue 10 years ago but going on 2021 can this be resolved?

    May be be your cable connection. I've had the same thing happen to me when I use a certain cable. When i changed to a new one, no more problems. Try a different USB cable.

    Thanks for your kind response. I’ve tried different cords and that seems to work great with Garman express it recognizes it on the Mac a lot quicker with the proper cord. I think so this issue is more of a charging issue when I plug it in and the laptop, the MacBook Pro or the edge 1030 plus, Sleeps the improper injection comes up. It’s not that big of a deal because it still keeps charging and I never have lost data from it but once one of the screens changes or sleeps it Ejects  improperly. Thanks again for your time I think for now I will just keep on messing with cords or try to reject it before I walk away.

    This is an odd one. I have been using a PC while on the clock and a Mac at home with our Edge devices for a few years now and have only seen this happen when their was a connection issue somewhere. This could be the port on the computer, the cable, or the port in the Edge itself. 

    Is there any common trait between these different devices that you have seen exhibit this symptom?

    I purchase a new MacBook Pro every year. This little issue has occurred with everyone. Brand new laptops brand new chords. I will figure this thing out eventually. And continue to read all replies thank you very much sincerely mad dog

    Could it be that the machine is powering down the ports as part of power management function when left alone and goes into a sleep state.

    I still think it's the connection. I've picked up my Garmin while it was charging on my mac and had it disconnect while it was still obviously connected. This only occurred with a particular cable.
