Tell me about updates especially chipset

I see this on the forum:

"GPS Chipset 4.50 is now available"

But there are no instructions as to if I should update and if so, how to do it.

Is this included with the latest firmware update?

(insert derogatory comment on garmin software here)

It’s updated automatically when you sync. You may not even notice it happening as it doesn’t take long.
