ETA Calculation

I was climbing a steep, continually 14% grade, 2 mile fire road on my mountain bike today.  A few minutes in, I decided to use the map to find the junction up ahead.  I dropped a pin and started navigating towards that point.  It showed about 2 miles to go but the "ETA at Next" said something like 10 minutes.  No chance that was going to happen.  It was probably going to be about 30 minutes at best, for me on this steep windy dirt fire road. The Edge knew that I had 1800ft of climb to go, so it has some knowledge of the terrain.  So how is the ETA computed?  If I was on flat ground (on my mountain bike, not a road bike) then 10 minutes is somewhat reasonable (maybe slightly longer than what I might do).
