Dude the vast majority don't care. Most have a pile of micro-USB cables and chargers. Personally USB-C would be no benefit. Despite not being your preferred connector you should recognize USB-C is total overkill for such a device and provide no convenience for most people.

I agree. The USB-C has advantages for some electronics for a faster charge but the 1030 charges fairly quickly with the micro USB

More important would be a faster USB version!

Most people want USB-C for a stronger physical connection (more robust apparently), and because very few devices use micro-USB these days.

I have more micro USB devices than USB-C so not that bothered but like the idea of a stronger connector.

Speed won't make a difference as the flash in the edge devices is slower than even USB-2.can handle.

Come on Garmin... Just bought my Edge 1030 for full-price month ago due to no news on upcoming devices. Could there be at least a little forewarning before basically deprecating 500€+ technology

Well, Dude, I have been tired for a long time to check the right position to insert the micro USB in my 1030. For a mid-2020 machine, you would assume Garmin used the USB-C. So fast an easy to use... Just insert it eyes closed...
