WiFi issues on Edge 1000 after upgrade to 15.40

After upgrading my Edge 1000 from 15.20 to 15.40 I noticed that the Edge does not connect to my Home network WiFi anymore. The connection was setup and did work before with 15.20.

My Home network is WPA2-PSK but the Edge shows it as unsecured. Restarting the Garmin and new setup does not work (likely because the WiFi network is assumed unsecured and not WPA2-PSK). The Garmin still connects though to my iPhone personal hotspot.

Home WiFi network is Ubiquiti nanoHD (802.11ac Wave2) Firmware 4.3.13.11253. 2.4Ghz and 5ghz are botj enabled. SSID is not hidden.

Anyone else experienced something similar?

5. Talked to Garmin Support. Restarted my Router.
6) Reset to factory settings*, added all my profiles and data screens a new. Initalized Wlan via Garmin Express. Still does not work. I hate this crap.
*) Thank you for NOT telling me, that I would lose these after resetting, although I asked what I would have to backup in advance)

I have the very same issue with Garmin Edge 1000. No apparent solutions as of yet. Anybody managed to figure something?

I can't believe I didn't notice this. We have three Edge 1000 units and - yup - they no longer connect to the home WiFi. They DO connect to the car WiFi and upload which is why I never noticed the issue when we got home.

I love Garmin and have spent a fortune on their "generally" great devices over the years. But when I see this is been going for 2 years...

This is correct. as per a Cisco worksheet:

"Do NOT enable it as required. If you do this, your not 802.11r capable clients can't anymore connect to the SSID."

If you google this (quoted) sentence above, you will find more info about how to check if your client (e. g. your Garmin) is 802.11r capable or not. Guess it is not, MatthewCarmody?

Ummm - thanks for the advice to Google it.

It is a good deal more complicated than "capable". The devices need to be able to access an AP that is using 802.11r.

And I love the mangled English in the Cisco worksheet.

sorry, I know that "Google it" is actually not an advice at all ;) And yes, I read through a blog post regarding the difference between clients 802.11k and 802.11r and was also stunned about the tech talk of Cisco *lol*
