GSC 10 will not stay on

I only have maybe 10 rides with this sensor paired to an edge 500. I figured the battery might be old and installed a new one. I hit the reset button and get the alternating flashing red and green lights. Cadence and speed lights flash when the magnet passes but only for about a minute. Any ideas what's up?

The LED's only flash during the test period which is about a minute.

If you are not getting cadence or speed info after a minute, that's a different story to be continued.

Thank you for the reply. I locked my bike into my trainer and reset it again, got the flashing lights as expected with the proper LED illuminating on each pass of the magnet when all of a sudden my edge 500 dings and indicates the sensors have been detected. No problems after that. I have no idea what the deal was before, it didn't recognize it on the previous 20 mile ride I was on. Mysterious...
