Garmin Edge 800 can't find S/C Sensor

Been using Edge 800 with S/C sensor for over a year now and hasn't missed a beat before this week. My Edge 800 no longer can find the S/C sensor.

I have

1) tried to reset the link between the devices following the instructions on Garmin website
2) changed the battery

and still no luck

The S/C sensor flashed red/green at the correct times but it isn't being found by my Edge.

Help!
