Garmin speed/cadence sensor for recording distance on turbo

I bought the above in order to record distance and speed whilst training on the turbo. However, after fitting it, I can't seem to get it to work.

Does anyone know if you can record speed/distance whilst on a turbo using this?

Thanks
  • Yes you can. You need to turn of GPS or else it will pick up even the slightest trace of GPS and use that.

Have you got it properly installed? Turn off GPS. Spin the wheel and cranks. You should see flashing red/green lights on the sensor - red for cadence, green for wheel if I remember correctly.
  • Brilliant! I'll check I've installed it properly...perhaps I haven't and give it another go!

    Thanks for the reply.
  • With the GSC 10 "cadence/speed" needs to be selected for sensor type. Or "cadence" in you have the older 710. You need the press the test button to get the lights to flash when the magnet passes. Green for speed.
