Magnetless speed sensor on hub dynamo causing issues?

I have put the new magnetless spped sensor to my front hub dynamo.
Now I do see extreme spikte with up to 120 kmph and the automatic wheel calcultion is working wrong as well.
As soon as I disconnect the sensor and the speed will only be calculated via GPS everything is fine.
I tested it with a Forerunner 620 and an Edge 1000.

Please help! Can a hub dynamo induce such effects? Or might the sensor be wrong?

I have a second new speed sensor on my road bike with a normal (non dynamo) hub and everything is fine.
  • The simple thing to do is to move the sensor to the rear wheel if you can and see how that works. But, yes, I could believe that the magnet in the dynamo might be affecting the electronics in the sensor.
  • ok, then I need to see how I can do that.
On one side there is the disc from the brake on the other side of the realr wheel the cassette.
And many spokes, so I really have to see if I can manage it with my big hands

Just exchanged it to the rear wheel. Was easier than expected, MAybe because the rubber band was stiil extended lentghwise from the dynamo hub diameter.
Will see later if it improves once I'll go back home.
  • The speed sensor needs to placed away from electronic devices or magnets.
  • Now these spikes are gone.
FR620 & Edge 1000 do show the same values.

    Thanks for helping
