New Garmin Speed Sensor 2 - no LED exists.

I don't mean the LED doesn't light up I mean there is NO LED FITTED.

So in that sense ... the LED doesn't light up.. but only because it doesn't exist. I see the hole in the rubber mount... but there isn't an LED in the sensor itself. So there's no LED. And of course I cannot get the sensor to pair/sync/whatever.

Am I mad? Is there something I'm missing? Or have I ordered some sort of dodgy knock-off product from Amazon.

May be strange suggestion but did you remove sensor from rubby case? May be someone before you tried this sensor and installed sensor in the case incorrectly and then return to Amazon. And so you can’t see led through hole in the case.

I ordered several years ago the same sensor and from Amazon too without any problems in the past…

No. Checked everywhere. Removed from rubber case, checked both sides, installed a new battery in it. No LED anywhere. I think this is a knock off product.

I'm return to Amazon, but im going to look at reporting the product and store to Amazon.

You couldn’t mixed up cadence sensor (without led) and speed sensor? Asked about this because never listen about knock off Garmin products.
