Cycplus sensors indoor bike not calibrating

Hi to all,

I am not sure this is the right thread to post but i have a question about my indoor bike and the sensors connected to mygarmin fenix 8.

I already had a (cheap) indoor training bike and I also had 2 cycplus (cospoo) sensors for speed and cadence. Both of the sensors paired easily with ny fenix and show in Connect app.

The issue is that the recorded speed showing in app (and therefore distance) is wrong compared to the screen of the bike and I am lookong for a way to calibrate the wheel diameter in Connect app or watch.

No luck searching in Google and youtube or in here..

Any ideas excluding to change my bike or buy new sensors?

  • If the speed shown on your indoor bike depends on resistance level, then no calibration value will work. i.e. any external speed sensor won't work for you.

  • I don't want to connect the bike to the watch. I have connected the 2 cycplus sensors (speed & Cadence) and just want to calibrate them.

  • Yes, I know. I was trying to tell you, that if speed shown on your bike depends on resistance level, then you cannot calibrate an external sensor to show the same value.

  • Ah, I understand now! Thank you for your reply! Pray

  • I have these Cyplus sensors too but have not used  them for years. On older Garmin watches there was a way to calibrate the wheel size manually, in Sensors, while the sensor was active and connected. Speed sensors are normallly automatically calibrated while riding outdoors but for an indoor bike you had manual calibration. I got the speed correct for an elliptical trainer that way. However its speed only depended on "wheel" revolutions and not on resistance level.
