Cadence and Speed Sensor 2 and Spin Bike?

There is a Peloton spin bike we would like to try with the Tacx Training App and then log the workouts on Garmin Connect. The goals are to use the app mounted on the trainer for spinning and later sync the sessions with the road riding logs. If the Peleton has no built-in sensors that can relay this data can the Garmin Speed & Cadence Sensor 2 be installed on the spin bike to make this work? There were complaints that those sensors may not auto-activate or could require manual starting to transmit.. are they working on it? What simple and reliable options can help configure a Peleton trainer to interface with apps like Tacx and combine with ride data from a road bike?

  • Cadence sensor can be used on a spin bike without issues.

Speed sensor cannot be used reliably on a peloton spin bike, because this kind of bike does not have a real wheel.

There were complaints that those sensors may not auto-activate or could require manual starting to transmit

These sensors activate as soon as they start spinning. No manual starting is necessary (or as a matter of fact not even possible).
