Red Light flashing speed sensor 2

The same problem 

Same problem here - after replacement with an out of the box-2032 (Varta, no no name) and 5 min for reset, my Speedsensor 2 just replies with continuous red flashes and no further reaction. Had no issues until then.

1. Has it anything to do with the mysterious 4.0 software update?

Same here.... Old battery was unresponsible even Garmin connect shows battery level ok... And now 4 new batteries flash only red led. Cant pair device.
And it might have something to do with software 4.0 which i tried update after last ride but it failed to update... after that try sensor has become unresponsible.

Update: I contacted Garmin. Problem is known. They are working on it. New update for sensor to solve issue should come via Edge. I answered that updating the sensor is difficult as connections between Edge and sensor are not possible due to the issue. No answer from Garmin yet.

So is this garmin software or hardware related issue? Does garmin even have software developers or wth is going on that they are wasting whole summer with this "known" issue? Is it even worth buy new one from garmin if 4.0 update is bricking sensor?

Garmin wake up!!!

Hi, I have this same issue, new battery change and red light only every 10 seconds. Tried 3 new batteries with above 2.9v~ and still the same issue. No green lights
