Speed sensor 2 not waking up

I got cadence and speed sensor 2, the cadence is working perfectly fine. However the speed sensor is not waking up at all, every time I need to remove the battery wait a couple of seconds and put it back in order for the sensor to work. Kindly advise, as this is my second sensor I try and the same issue I have.

I have had the same problem with two copies. My guess is that there is a serious design defect. The red and green lights do work when I open up the case and hold it closed. But then when I twist the cap to close it, nothing. I have tried to use tape to better hold the battery in place. And i have tried to slightly bend the side and bottom battery contacts outward. Still nothing. I guess I will once again return the thing,
