Calibrate Quarq power meter on Fenix 6 or Edge 530 or zero in SRAM app?

New to power meters and wondering:

- Is it really necessary to calibrate/zero before every ride?

- Is it best to calibrate using the Fenix 6 or Edge 530 or zero using the SRAM app?
