HR monitor does not stop when not in use

Hello

The battery on my HR monitor started to drain quicker than usual.

I realized that when I stop using it after an activity and take it off my chest, instead of going into a stand by mode it continues to broadcast its signal (and connects to any paired device that is within range).

Is there any way the HR monitor can be forced it into stand by mode?

Thanks

  • Unfortunately there's no way to force an HRM into stand by mode. Sometimes they stay active even when you remove them after an activity and broadcast spurious high heart rates. You can try to dry off the contacts because your sweat is confusing the electronics.

  • It might help to pop one (or both) of the sensor snap connectors off the chest band to (assumingly) eliminate any current flow or battery drain.  I do this after every use.
