Does anyone know of a non Garmin branded mount that has the same quarter turn plate on the underside of the cycling mount so it can be used with the flange mount? The official Garmin mount clamp is too wide to fit my aero handlebars so I am trying to find an alternative but it has been very hard. Rec-Mounts is the only manufacturer which has the exact adapter to fit under their mounts so the flange mount can fit but its extremely expensive.
I'm searching for a solution to this same problem, Tim, and am wondering what you ended up doing. I have a 2020 S-works Venge which comes with a proprietary "Specialized Barfly Accessory Mount" mounted by a single bolt to the stem faceplate. Barfly does make a compatible underside mount for gopro finned accessories like the Garmin Varia headlight, but the convenient quick release quarter turn piece is obviously not compatible with my mount either. Really don't want to have to thumb screw or hex wrench my light on and off, as I will be taking it on and off every day.
I have access to a 3D printer and will be trying to print the "Garmin Quarter Turn Mount Plate" pictured. To get this to fit under the Barfly mount with a couple screws shouldn't be too tough. Will let you know how it goes.
Thats exacty what i did a while ago with that exact template you are using on my canyon out front but had to cut it down to get screws into it but well doable.
