Speed sensor data ..... or not as the case may be

Okay, I went into a long tunnel tis weekend (Blackwall Tunnel and then Limehouse tunnel) and noticed that my speed had dropped off to zero, presumably because I was in a tunnel and a GPS lock wasn't possible.

But I have a Garmin speed sensor fitted, so was expecting that sensor to be used in preference to the GPS, so a couple of questions;

1. How can I tell if the sensor is being used to calculate the speed rather than the GPS (anything in the datafiles?)

2 Is there a way to force the first place to be consulted for speed, to be the sensor rather than the GPS ?

Thanks
  • The speed should come from the senor first and then the GPS. If you spin the wheel that is being monitor by the sensor while not moving the bike then the head unit should show a speed even though the bike is not moving.

    What head unit are you using?
