my fenix 5 plus did crash a number of times while syncing with Garmin Explore. Just like on the fenix 6x pro courses created in the Explore app are corrupted (No data when trying to navigate, no preview map,..) I Will probably reset the watch later today…
I found this in 21.00 release notes:

I´ve got a route on my 5X which cannot be deleted.
If going to navigation and to route (maybe in englisch it is track, not sure) a track with name xxx is shown. If selecting and going to to the point "map" the preview is not shown. Scale of map shows…
You can use the following to see the map coverage:
"I've got no idea why I see previous routes, but this isn't uncommon - if I load a route and look at the preview it seems to be a mashup of previous routes???"…
Waypoints should be visible on the map automatically.
