This may have been asked before but I don't seem to be able to find an exact answer. I have plotted a "route" using Basecamp. When I use the route in my Navi 2597 (Trip Planner) it does not follow the exact route I have developed. I does this irrespective…

Side related, Stryds go into sleep mode and stop feeding data to Garmin if your pace drops below a certain threshold or if you do not start at a certain threshold.   If you have gaps in your data, or no data at all this is a very possible cause.  The fix…

I can see that my pace records a drastic drop every time I turn a corner.

How wide a corner and how tight a corner are you turning, because that's pretty much what will happen. Inertia alone means you need to decelerate slightly to turn corners.

  • RE: floors climbed

    Thanks

I tried the hard reset this morning, walked down my flight of stairs drove a short distance to my work place, walked a fair bit but zero stairs, came home walked up my stairs, I'm on 22 floors!!

I don't buy the temperature change excuse from…

  • RE: instinct consistently under records run times

So in fact it does not under record the time, but the distances, hence the slower pace. You can improve the distance under reporting by enabling the "every second recording" mode instead of the default "smart recording" in the System Settings of Instinct…

  • RE: New HR Recovery interface is bad

Or an example more understandable for short distance track runners, if you do stop/resume tactic after each 400m lap you may be able to complete a 5k at your sprint speed. You'll be rewarded with a great (but fake) vo2max figure.…
  • RE: Edge 1030 stop navigating when official start/finish of mtb track is reached

But when I come to the officcial start/finish of the track

It looks like you are talking about a loop track.

Ideally, the track would end some short distance before it gets to the start. That way, the device would pick up the start point rather than the…

  • Something positive: has gps tracking improved in 9.36?

I have a few measured tracks in my neighbourhood. The old 6s was really rubbish at getting the right distance and usually undercut big time, like at times 100m or more per 1km short. The 7s was better. Out of the box when released it usually was at or…

  • RE: VDOT, Recovery Time and Race Predictor - are they working for you?

So the idea behind this thread (and a previous one about Max HR) had me curious. I went back over several of my runs where I pushed hard at some segment, e.g. had a big hill or tried going all out for a short distance. I'm 46, and both the Optical HRM…
