• RE: Fenix 6s Open Water Swimming under reporting distance & pace

it looks like we agree that swim style is more likely the problem

Maybe the same problem of the algorithm with the accelerometer as with the thread "running distance usually short" ?

  • RE: Open water swim distance calculated by watch vs GPS distance recorded by watch

The reason would be that GPS in open water swimming is problematic, because the watch spends most of the time submerged, where no GPS signal is available. The watch gets GPS signal only intermittently, and for very short periods of time. This causes severe…

  • Can I recalibrate distances in my Appoach S10

When compared to the golf course measurements it seems my Approach S10 gives me 10 yards short distances. Can I recalibrate my Appoach S10?

  • RE: Distance accuracy

Allan, I had the same feeling with my Fenix 5.
The track shown on the map was more or less correct, however, the distance has been measured too short by 4-11 %. per kilometer and obviously total distance. For this reason I returned the watch and want…
  • RE: Unusable Distance/GPS Open Water Swim

Factory reset… now it‘s netter - in average 10%-15% short. Ironman distance last weekend e.g. showed 3491m - other recordings from friends  3750-3900

  • RE: Open water distance

I have done some short distance tests comparing different activities for the same course. Open water is the worse.

Just go for a walk around your house. First use "walk". Than use "open water". You will see the difference. It shows less detailed course…

  • Distance Issues

Let me echo everything that I am reading from others. The distance issues with the R10 are frustrating. Lower irons are close (wedges - 8 iron.) Longer irons, hybrids, and woods aren’t worth even hitting at this point indoors as the distances are so short…

  • RE: The last 2 times I cycled my same route it shorted me almost 1 mile for every 5. How can I fix this?

Please post links to two of your activities - one with the expected results, and one with the shorter distance.

  • RE: Wrong distance

I've been seeing distances ~4% short compared to a Forerunner 235. Both devices are set up with 1 second recording and GPS + GLONAS.

Then I did a run with a bit of tree cover last week and I was losing 100m per kilometre compared to the FR235! That…
