  • RE: Software version 10.00

Update - was out for a short walk "Hiking activity" (before I read Volker_I. post) around my home - I'm now on GPS: 4.40.

The GPS track in Connect looks OK, also the elevation seems to be OK. But note: walked distance: 160 m, elevation: min…

I have the Vivomove style, purchased in April_2020. For the last two days can not connect to GPS, previously experiencing GPS map and distance issue.

Watch connects to mobile GPS but I get part or disjointed map on Garmin Connect. Distance is usually…

As in indoor running, the watch can use the accelerometer to calculate steps and extrapolate distance (more accurate if you calibrate steps). You could use or modify that profile. However, in a racquet sport the step lengths won't be uniform (jumps, short…

would be very careful assuming that race distances are correct per the race organizer as sometimes small changes they make can mean the actual distance isn't as reported, as Camille Herron found when her 100 mile world record she set in February was disallowed…

I got my 700i about a month ago, firmware updated to 5.30. Compass on auto. Yes, I spun around, it worked, walked a short distance and it froze. Stood still then eventually unfroze and worked. Walked and froze.

Then, in the car, at 60 mph or so, it seemed…

I have two different Garmins. I write quite honest about my disappointments:
Definitely for running, the Fenix 6 has very low gps for urban use, measuring typically short distances. Another big drawback is the useless pace. I don't know how serious a runner…

No obvious problems with the track of the FR230 vs the FR310, not quite as good (which is understandable given the form factor) and I was running pretty much straight on a bike track with no tree cover, not at the track where GPS systems do struggle with…

Along with sussamb's good advice, I'd add that having the same exact waypoint for the start and finish of a route is asking for trouble. Though it seems logical enough to us, the GPS just does not like it and will often get confused. Creating a new start…

How much do think the 735 is out on distance? Is this on multiple occasions? What is your way of measuring the true distance? For me the 735 seems very accurate on distance vs. Other GPS devices
