• RE: GPS accuracy, 6X vs 5X vs real GPS device vs Xiami dual frequency

I've never had any reason not to trust my distance measurements, either. I had an oddity the other day where the watch was calculating my distance WAY short (showing 0.7 miles when I had actually gone 1.2 miles) for the first half of an activity, but…

  • RE: Doubling the length

Interesting: this afternoon the watch briefly displayed what looked like a software level or update notice, & then that disappeared.  Now it's not doing the distance doubling - I tested it on a few loops of our short dog walk (~0.6 mi).

    SW level…

  • Open Water Swim settings don't work after update

The distance and time does not work on Open Water Swim since I installed the last couple of updates on the Garmin Forerunner920xt.
It worked before. The moving time is too short or too long, or it records the time but not the distance on the map. This…

  • RE: Activity info.elapsedDistance has unexpected jumps

One user of my Ebike Field - Nerd Style send me REALLY strange behaviour of info.elapsedDistance . He had Fenix 5S Plus with FW 7.10.

Click here to play this video

Please check short video. On first screen there is ebike field with distance fluctuating on left-down corner of the screen…

  • RE: Compass Freeze Montana 700

I got my 700i about a month ago, firmware updated to 5.30. Compass on auto. Yes, I spun around, it worked, walked a short distance and it froze. Stood still then eventually unfroze and worked. Walked and froze.

Then, in the car, at 60 mph or so, it seemed…

  • Northpoint and Scalebar

I've used the InReach Mini 2 on a couple of short bicycle tours. Does anyone else think that the scalebar on the paired mobile phone device is way too short? So short that it makes it difficult to estimate distances on the map? There's a whole screen…

I have two different Garmins. I write quite honest about my disappointments:
Definitely for running, the Fenix 6 has very low gps for urban use, measuring typically short distances. Another big drawback is the useless pace. I don't know how serious a runner…

  • RE: Pace issues with the FR230 : Instant and Lap (v3.10)

No obvious problems with the track of the FR230 vs the FR310, not quite as good (which is understandable given the form factor) and I was running pretty much straight on a bike track with no tree cover, not at the track where GPS systems do struggle with…
  • RE: Creating a Route from a Track

Along with sussamb's good advice, I'd add that having the same exact waypoint for the start and finish of a route is asking for trouble. Though it seems logical enough to us, the GPS just does not like it and will often get confused. Creating a new start…
