• RE: 28.20 - Gradient calculation

surely accuracy is defined as a measure of precision -- if the altitude [barometric] sensor is observed to be precise "enough" and the GPS-speed (which is not speed, it is distance over time) is observed to be reliable because time is precise and distance…

  • RE: Poll: Are you satisfied with the measured running Pace on the Fenix 6?

The problem also a footpod can't solve though is the massive variation the Garmin shows, even when running with supposedly the same pace and exactly the same route. Some typical data from my old town on 5km: 300m short, 120m short, 170m short, 320m short…

  • RE: Fenix 6x Ski Runs Splitting during a run?

Is there any chance that you are going uphill for a short distance during the run? I've not used my F6 for alpine skiing but used my F3 for several years and it happens from time to time but always because the slope gain altitude for a short period instead…

  • Fenix 6 inaccurate in heavy wooded areas

The watch always measures significantly shorter than the real distance or distance recorded by for example a Fenix 7 (borrowed), I've worn both at once to verify this. Wearing the watch on the inside of the wrist helps as does 1 second location updates…

Recently when doing a treadmill session the watch asked for my treadmill distance after I was done. I assume that was to gauge accuracy. Since then, when I walk on the treadmill the 5X puts mile mileage too high and when I run it short changes me.

    I've…
  • RE: Speed sensor 2 wheel size storage location?

It seems like a plausible solution.

TBH I don't have the Speed Sensor 2 paired with GCM normally. I'm waiting (probably in vain) until Garmin do something about the creation of separate activities every time the sensor is woken from it's sleep state.…

Everything I use worked the first time. Cadence, HR, speed, distance, avg speed, Di2 connection, live segments, elevation, a short route check, auto up load to Garmin Connect and then to Strava . Could the magic be back? Here’s to hoping so.

Gps accuracy seems pretty much the same as F3 did just over 5k split into 3 silly distance runs with both, pics look the same and distance was the same maybe 1% shorter of F5x but only one very short play run.
  • RE: Daily suggested workout – Experience after 2 months of training

Does a higher VO2max does not help for marathons / ultras

Not necessarily. VO2max is basically a measure of your cardiorespiratory function - how much of your inhaled oxygen you can convert to energy. You still need to develop the muscular…

Like others, I've not used this watch on a track, but I've had similar results to you with other watches. GPS tracks would have me running through the infield on one lap and in lane 6 when I was in lane 1 etc. I wouldn't use any GPS device on a track…
