    There is currently no ability to turn contour lines off, though we are evaluating that feature for a future version. The best you can do right now is probably to turn the detail down which reduces the number of contour lines, but not the shading.

    Completely agree, some way to set it up in your settings to choose from the two would be idea, as i work in Calories, and not kJ, so it's a real pain to convert it all the time.
