I've had mine less than 12 hours, but I haven't noticed any connectivity issues any different from my 6X to my iPhone 13.
Same problem, also 11 speed cassette. My rear dropouts are fairly narrow (135mm) but can get it mounted with the 12x135 adaptor for the NDS, then have same issue you describe above. Looking at it the obvious thing to do is to move the cassette closer…

That was my impression. However, if the Garmin team was able to develop a cryptography library for CIQ, my understanding is that I would be able to create a secure connection by signing messages and sending raw bytes to the peripheral.
