    hi eugenelee13

doing a GPS soak for 20 minutes should be enough (start a GPS activity and leave the watch outdoors or on a windowsill)

soak is advisable after every GPS firmware update

what GPS settings were used during your activities ?

I was looking for a way that the watch would allow me to set a alert for telling me if my current pace is to fast or too slow during my run.
You can do so by not using a custom workout, but simply setting a range alert in the activity profile.

    Thanks.
Moving average of the last minute or so, instead of current pace is MUCH better estimate.
If it takes into consideration the part fo the workout already done, would be a great estimat¡on.

I have looked at the pace indicator now, and I think I understand your problem. The pace shown under the indicator shows your workout step pace, while the the pace alarms (and the progress indicator) are based on the current pace.

    The workout step pace…

    See this thread:

In short, pace alert are looking at lap pace, not current pace! That's why you get alert just after lap mark.

    It works!

On my walk yesterday (without LiveTrack going) I got the pace alerts, no problems (lap and HR turned off)

On my run this morning (WITH LiveTrack going) I got lap alerts, HR alerts and pace alerts -- AND (added bonus) my audio went back to…

    Followup for clarity:
For instance, If I'm running and I look down and see that at my current pace I'll finish 5k in 28minutes so that I can speed up or slow down depending on my goals.

...well after the first 20 seconds of each new lap (it is current pace before that)

I didn't know that... thanks for clarifying.
I was always wondering why the pace fluctuated in the beginning of each lap.

Hi there, I've been using this data field successfully for running for months now - it just works!

but there is a new feature I would like if possible, similar to a feature in the (no longer maintained) datafield called "Flexirunner". The feature is…

Can't you just remember your average pace from last time and have a data field showing your current pace and another one with your average pace, and try to bring it lower or higher?

    That's what I do...
