  • RE: Instant pace erratic at best

Garmin's default "current pace" is rounded (if I am not wrong) to 5 sec/km.
Also the current pace has to be calculated by GPS coordinates. This will add a lag as well.
Use a footpod like Stryd or a well calibrated SDM4 and you will have the…

FWIW, I regularly run on a paved trail at my park with sections of partially covered trail, and sections with open sky. My FR235 almost always has issues in the covered sections, mostly around the current pace field. The distance works out fine (the trail…

In Response to Crispin_Ellisdon's comment (how did you do that?):

I tried today with the following scenario and I have no idea, what happened.

    1) Changed cf to 150 as advised. Stryd setting: distance/pace ALWAYS
    2) Went for a walk to local shopping store…

Could not find a good example, but I read that in the manual you'll see how to set up one of the data fields as Current Pace.

Hi Former Member FR245 broadcast both your current heart rate but also your current pace (speed) and cadence over the standard Bluetooth without any pod / HR strap.

    Hi, I don't have a FR35 (yet) but if the FR25 shows:
    • Current pace
    • Avg pace
    • Lap pace

I'm pretty confident that the FR35 will do too.

Settings -> Focus Modes -> Activity -> Voice Alerts -> Pace/Speed Alerts -> Recurring Alert -> Alert Type

Sounds like in Alert Type you have Current Pace/Speed but want Lap Pace/Speed

If you want a current pace field that isn't rounded, I made a CIQ data field that can help:

    1) Install AppBuilder 5 on your device: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/fd690281-9c22-4fee-a81e-3b7f39aa67c5

    2) Use the following settings

Also problems with the GPS instant rate since the recent update 11.73

With my same old satellite setup, it takes over 1' to deliver the actual current pace.

Yea, I agree with the instant pace. I do use a foot pod to show my current pace while I am running. But my distance is spot on.
