I'm not sure if I'm reading her heart rate or she's reading mine on her watch. Regardless, the heart rate always reads exactly the same on both watches simultaneously. I'm stumped. Does anybody have a fix for this?

I have never heard of an OHR option for your Instinct Solar that will go between your Instinct Solar watch and the Venu series but maybe? Especially considering you can add an Edge unit to your road bike…
I did shut mine off earlier today. Its bizarre. We've had these watches for about a year and never had this issue, nor did we change any of the HR settings from stock. Maybe a recent software update…

Especially considering you can add an Edge unit to your road bike and then broadcast your OHR from your Instinct Solar to the Edge so your OHR will be seen in that recorded and saved Bike activity.
Here is where you can check your settings:
- Instinct Solar - Broadcasting Heart Rate
Here is where you can check her watch settings:
Ok. Her "broadcast in activity" was on. Will test tomorrow if it changes. Come to think of it I was getting an odd message recently before starting the "walk" It would say something like "HR ext connect and a series of numbers. I had never seen that before.
Sounds like you have found the cause. You should be good to go as long as both of your watches have Broadcast Heart Rate turned off.

UPDATE: Once I shut off HR broadcasting on both watches everything is back to normal.
