How do I switch off expedition mode

I switched expedition mode on by mistake and no matter what I do I can’t delete it’s history or switch it off. It no longer acts as a watch, won’t record any activity and no longer synchs with my phone. I’ve switched it off and back in three times - expedition mode is still on. It’s driving me nuts

    I am sorry there are multiple issues. I am unsure the issue is expedition mode given your are also describing no longer recording an activity and no longer Bluetooth syncing. Given the whole picture, start by checking your Battery Saver mode.

    Please try the following:

    After you have ensured your Battery Saver is off, check your Bluetooth connectivity to your smart phone through the Garmin Connect Mobile APP. Your Battery Saver feature disconnects your OHR sensor and your Bluetooth connection to conserve battery life.

    I am unsure what direction to go for Expedition Mode. It is its own activity profile option. It also turns off all sensors and Bluetooth connectivity so it will feel like Battery Saver. You will go into the Expedition activity (Long press of your top right GPS button then selecting Expedition.) See if the Expedition activity is running in the background then end the activity and discard if it's running.

    Did you ever get a straight answer from Garmin on this? I do not understand the reply from Chris at Garmin. All he has to do is tell us how to disable the Expedition mode. I am having the same exact problem with my Garmin Solar.

    In the end they rang me up because they didn’t know how to fix it. We tried various things and eventually found a solution that worked which was to find the menu that had the option to switch off battery saving mode or power mode , once I did that the watch returned to normal. I don’t use the thing now. It’s the worst garmin watch I have ever had. Good luck with yours

    The answer from Garmin in this thread is wrong. I figured this out on my own instinct solar just now.

    To enter expedition mode:

    Tap the "GPS" button. Select "Expedition". Tap "GPS" again to start the expedition.

    To pause the expedition:

    Just tap the GPS button again. You'll see the timer stop.

    To exit the expedition:

    Pause the expedition. Wait a moment for a menu to display with the options "Resume", "Save", "Resume Later", and "Discard".  Select "Save" to conclude the expedition. It will display "saving final track point" which will wait for GPS. If GPS is not available hit "Down" to skip this. Then hit "Down" and select "Done" to fully exit expedition mode.
