Instinct solar powers off

I have seen multiple posts about this issue already and I'm having the same issue. For those who got their issues resolved already, can you please share your experience with garmin support? How did they address the issue?

In my case, they are asking me to take the watch to the local distributor and have it checked there. Unfortunately, I bought mine online and the distributor's location is too far away. I will have to spend a considerable amount to get there just to have it checked and possibly spend some more to have it repaired since the watch is no longer under warranty.
