  • So, this feature then uses the cartography elevation details as opposed to what was recorded by the watch?

Right. More details here: What Is the Elevation Corrections Feature in Garmin Connect? | Garmin Customer Support

  • What's the good steps to install an older version from a zip file?

GARMIN needs to fix this quick and GOOD before ppl cutting lost n jumping ships

  • Барометр и термометр перестали работать на моих часах. Как это исправить.

  • Just did same hike as yesterday's w new solar watch. The number came in 6.82mi/902.2 ft gain (vs 2200 ft actual) - gain basically stuck around 800 ft. With 'Elev Corrections Enabled', the numbers also did not change this time ???!!!

    Just CRAZY

  • I just did an 7.5 mile run in the VT Green Mountains in mixed weather with the new 18.1 public release.  Looks good to me.  I was right where I expected to be for elevation gain.  Watch says 3356 feet total ascent and corrected says 3166.  So not too far off from each other.  Last time I did this same run with the 17.5 software it said 8,000 feet of ascent.  Much better now.

  • Another software problem. Hike/Navigate/Courses/course reverse...even when am at mid of a trail, it keeps warning off-course, then back on-course. this does not happen when using normal course direction !

I would like to see the watch displays the course map automatically for my current location (or let me select a course/route to display) while am on normal hike tracking mode...so I can see where am relates to the route. This simple function does NOT seem to exist ??! Being on course/trail is So important. People die from getting off trails.

  • if you're ok with it, switch off bluetooth on the phone while swimming. I do this and the activity gets recorded correctly

  • Towards the end of October my device automatically updated to version 18.10 and I noticed the following abnormal behavior on the HR measurement:

    • RHR increased from a weekly average of 51-52 to an average of 56-57 (+ 5-6 beats)
    • the body battery remains below 30 in the morning and no longer rises
    • abnormal rate alerts> 100 after high intensity workouts

From a physical point of view, I feel good and I have not noticed any differences and it seems really strange to me the coincidence of this behavior in the measurements and the update of the FW. From now I'll test the RHR using my old Vivoactive 3 together with the Instict to check any differences.

As for the altimeter, I noticed that in mountain excursions (with barometer calibrated before departure) it is generally more accurate than in previous FW versions, but in the first 20 minutes the altimeter reports a strong jump in altitude of about + 100m compared to the real. If I do the calibration after this increase the measurement is regularized.

  • Hello Mike, do you have any answers from

this? I still with the same issue. All my hikes are showing a crazy amount of elevation gain and all time I walk in the streets recognise that I’m going upstairs, so I climb 50 steps every day. Also I cleaned, as they said, the sensor port but still going crazy.

    any solution?

    cheers
