Hello the community.
I am coming from the FENIX watch where I was very pleased even though not dedicated to surfing.
Living west coast France and surfing very often, I purchased the Instinct 1 Surf Solar about one year ago.
I cannot be more agreed with the people complaining about this generation 1. Let me drive you through all the issues I have :
1) Trigger to count waves is not working well. Most of the time it count waves when I'm paddling but not when I'm surfing.. data's are inaccurate and impossible to use.
2) Speed count does not work well as well , otherwise I'm surfing very very fast (100 kph ...)
3) Tide are inaccurate (in advance of 30min) and impossible to fix..
4) no possibility to install Garmin IQ to install surfline forecast.
I feel like the generation 2 is maybe working better but I'm sad to wear a "prototype" not finalized that I can't use for its purpose. I can sell it and purchase a new Instinct 2 but I'm really thinking to purchase the Ripcurl Search 2 GPS or even Casio Tides .. more simple but a least it work.
I'm surprised from Garmin that they don't provide solutions, it seems all Software issue and not Hardware right ?
