Now since Instinct 2 is out, will any of the newer features like VO2 Max come to Instinct Solar ? Asking this because I remember Body battery came to Original Instinct when it was released in Instinct Solar.

Garmin owes us nothing. We bought the product with the features available at that time.
I would prefer to solve all the bugs of the Instinct 1 before even thinking of of any new features
Well, what I would be interested is adding the Incident Detection... I did ditch my Apple Watch for an Instinct Solar 1, but that is a feature I missed (specially since I was victim in a bike crash with…
From a review: "As for existing Instinct owners, sadly, there’s none of that for you. While Garmin has been somewhat good about adding newer features to older watches lately (such as Fenix 7 features to Fenix 6 watches), the Instinct 1 is not part of that cool-kids club. Garmin confirmed no new Instinct 2 features will go to the Instinct 1 watch, which for the most part hasn’t seen much in the way of new features at all during its three and a half year lifespan. I don’t know why, but it’s definitely disappointing."
really hope we can get at least some new watch faces lol.
Well, what I would be interested is adding the Incident Detection... I did ditch my Apple Watch for an Instinct Solar 1, but that is a feature I missed (specially since I was victim in a bike crash with a car and the Apple Watch did notify my wife). Plus my Apple Watch was years old compared to my Garmin device, so don't tell the hardware of the Instinct Solar 1 is not powerful enough.
The hardware of the instinct solar might in fact be not strong enough to add more features. Considering even the newest generation has crashreboot issues. I can only see more issues if the adds solar 2 features to the solar 1 unfortunately..
I would like to see some of the new metrics be available, like VO2, and other health data. I'd think they *could* be added even with the prev gen sensor, but I don't expect it, as that's not Garmin's practice generally. Watch faces *could* happen, too, but I'm not sure there's much in CIQ that I'd want anyway, as it's a minefield of dodgy UIs and lo-res shareware.
The existence of features doesn't mean they're all useful. There's lots that my Solar can do that I don't use, like talk to my inReach and pair with other ANT stuff that I don't need to pair with, but always could.
Should be natural to add some, like vo2 max, training load, resting times once it is an outdoor watch. I read DC Rainmaker's Instinct2 test and Garmin confirmed to him that they would not release any of the instinct 2 features to the Instinct 1 gen. It is a joke. So much more of the new functions would remain exclusive for the Instinct 2 vs 1 so I find it really unfair from Garmin.

Is it a sponsored comment, right?:)
It is probably impossible. If you connect the watch to a computer, you would see there are only about 3 Mb of free memory, which is barely enough to store health data, activities and download new updates.
I don't think anything new would fit, given the limited memory.
I am definitely not an expert so you may be right. I thought to have a couple of new metrics does not require that much additional memory, eg. VO2 max is continuously updated, so just the actual status should be available on the watch. If the insufficient memory is the cause than there is no objection from my side, that's life. But Garmin did not explain the reason to DC Rainmaker so I suspect it may be a marketing decision. I do not know, just guessing.
