Instinct Solar Barometer Calibration Problems

Software version: 15.10 (Garmin Express shows this is already the latest version for my watch)

I find altimeter is auto-calibrated according to GPS during activities, which is good. But the problem is that, the barometer is also auto-calibrated according to elevation at the same time. Here are my two questions:

1. Is it really reasonable to calibrate the barometer according to the altimeter? Even if we are at the same elevation, we might have different barometric pressure due to different locations and different weather. So how can I calibrate my barometer according to altimeter?

2. How this calibration works? When the elevation is calibrated to 68m, I get 1012hPa. When the elevation is calibrated to -169m, I get 986hPa. I think this is weird because barometric pressure at low elevation should be greater than at high elevation, which contradicts the readings from my watch.
