Battery life remaining, days vs percentage

New Instinct Solar owner here. In the 10 days I've had it, I've been out in the sun a lot almost every day and the days remaining has stayed pretty steady in the 23-27 range, yet the percentage has steadily dropped from 100% to 53% in that time. I usually do a trail run almost every day, so I expect a drain, of course, but I'm curious as to why the two displays aren't consistent. When I'm out in the sun all afternoon, typically the days remaining will increase by 3 or 4, but the percentage never does. It always goes down. Is this normal?

I don't think you understood my question. It's alright. There is plenty of info on battery life and the "days remaining" and "percentage" resources, but none on why one goes up with frequent solar charging while the other continues to drop...which is why I asked.

But this is where it is answered several times. It is a prediction of the current state, the stay in the sun. If you weren't in the sun both states drop, both days and percentages. If you are in the sun and do not use gps, the percentage also rises. If you are currency in the sun the days rise, as a prediction and the percentage decreases.

That's right. Days are just an estimate based on current discharge rate offset by solar charging. When you use GPS that offset is always negative, because GPS alone taxes about 3.3% of battery charge per hour, while solar charges about 2% per hour in ideal conditions. When you stop running/using gps, but still outdoors that offset is positive. Therefore you can have battery drained, but number of estimated days still more than 20. The number of days catchup quickly, just dont expose watches to the sun for a day, e.g. short grey day in wintertime.
