Instinct Solar - GPS Inaccurate and Fast Battery Discharge After Software Update

Recently my Garmin Instinct Solar had an update. After this update, I noticed that for a few days the GPS was now drastically inaccurate (say +/- 0.25 miles during a walking activity). After those couple days, I noticed that my battery was decreasing rapidly, even without GPS usage. I charged the watch to 100% and then in the morning (~7 hours) the battery was down from 26 days to 9 days. In the hour it took me from waking up to arriving to work the watch was now at 3 days.

Once I returned home from work I tried charging the now dead watch and it would not charge. The device turns on and shows a low battery but will not advance past that screen.

I would post the version of the latest software update but I cannot turn the device on to retrieve this information. I bought this device in February 2021, so it has only been about 4 months of daily use.

Is there a way to fix this issue or is this device defective and needs to be returned?
