Instinct Solar - 12.20 Public Release Candidate

Hello Instinct Solar users,

This update is recommended for users with 12.10 and experiencing buttons becoming unresponsive.

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

12.20 Change Log Notes:

Fixed an issue where the device may seem unresponsive the next morning after updating software overnight.

In your email please include the software version, and a detailed description of your issue, along with any steps to reproduce. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.

Didn't you inadvertently click on the Update icon in Garmin Express? Though, even with that, it is the first time I hear an RC candidate was pushed to a device. Normally, only pubic releases are being rolled out over Garmin Express, the Candidate has to be uploaded manually.

Absolutely not! It didn't prompt me for anything, just said a software update was available then started syncing it. I was just sitting there watching it happen.

Hm strange. I cannot test it, since I already installed the Candidate manually. Are you sure you have the v12.20 now? Wasn't it update of other items (like Workouts, Records, etc)? If case you really are on v12.20 now, report it to [email protected]

To be honest, if you were on the 12.10, this is a good thing, as that version was fubared, I'd like to think that everyone on 12.10 was auto updated to .20 it was that bad.

Mine updated to 12.20 couple of days ago via Garmin Connect app on it's own. I don't mind, no issues here.

I am also seeing this. Got a brand new Solar Instinct and after 2 days when I connected to Garmin Express, it synced the 12.20 RC though I had set Auto Update to off.

Maybe its not a RC anymore, besides if you had the 12.10 installed that pretty much borked your phone so it may be that Garmin did an emergency update because of this. Be grateful, the .10 was really bad I was going to send my watch back as I thought it was broken.

My wife and I both have Instinct Solar watches which updated to the release of 12.2 via GC a few days ago. However, I am still seeing random reboots on running activities, and also some data loss on swimming activities.

I have logged this with Support, but wondered if any other users are still seeing issues.
