Auto Pause for running and trail running. Custom values in minutes not km/h

Recent purchase of the Instinct Solar and converted to this brand mainly due to DC Rainmaker (great reviews on products).  The only issue I'm finding at the moment is when I set the custom auto pause for running & trail running the value is for minutes..... Even if I set the value to the smallest value (2) the activity never kick starts out of the pause state.  I have to turn Auto pause off to record the activity.

When I set the custom auto pause for bike, mtb or hike the value is for 'Set speed' and all works fine.   For some reason SUP has no Auto Pause option.

Due to being a new Garmin user, I maybe missing something obvious but I can't see what.  Any help would be appreciated.

At running dsciplines, using pace (minutes per km or per mile) instead of speed is the common standard. Lower values of paces mean higher speed. Hence if you set the auto-pause pace to 2 minutes per km, you'd need to run 30 km/h to get out of the paused mode.

  • Thanks for a quick reply and good explanation.  That makes sense now.  I have just rest the values and looking forward to getting out for a test run.  Thanks again.
