PulseOx menu does not reflect the actual setting value

I have noticed that when I go to MENU -> Settings -> Activity Tracking -> Sleep Pulse Ox, there are only ON/OFF options. However, flicking that switch seems to cycle between the three possible states: 24-hour/During sleep only/Off. The evidence is that the battery estimate changes between 5 days/10 days/20 days. However, the switch only shows ON/OFF and it is completely inconsistent with the actual setting. It could be both ON or OFF for any of the possible values.

I see the same thing in the Android app - there are only ON and OFF states, but instead there should be a choice between the three possible. At least there the setting makes more sense and it toggles between either "All on" or "All off".

Because of this I ended up changing the setting from the website, then synchronizing. The switch is still in an indeterminate state, but at least the setting is correct.

I am using the current stable firmware (v9.30).

I assume everyone else is having the same issue, but they have not realized it yet. That ON/OFF switch makes no sense at all and it would be nice to see it replaced with some sort of a 3-way switch or a submenu where I could choose between the possible Pulse Ox Tacking states.

  • Hi - thanks for the report. I agree, there is a bug with the PulseOx setting. Sometimes if I turn PulseOx on, then go back to the Settings page, then return to the PulseOx setting it will be turned off. I can reproduce the issue on our 9.91 beta software as well. I have opened a bug report for this. We will investigate this and get it fixed.

Yes, initially, before realizing what is going on, I was very confused. Indeed, it looks like it stays randomly on or off.

However, here it is what is going on:

    1. I start at off state. Battery life is 29 days (with my current charge).
    2. I turn it on.
    3. I go back to MENU. There I see battery life has changed to 12 days.
    4. I go back to the setting and it is still ON. I turn it off.
    5. I go back to MENU. Battery life is now 6 days.
    6. I go to Pulse Ox and it is ON. However, this is correct, because it is now in "All day" state.

All this makes me think, the "Pulse Ox" switch iterates over the three possible values, but trying to display them as "ON" and "OFF", naturally, leads to confusion.

    I hope this helps.
