customize circular display?

Can someone with an Instinct 3 Solar confirm whether the circular display cutout is another data field you can customize? What data can be shown there?

I'm confused because of seeing https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/reference-guides/devices-reference/#instinct%C2%AE3solar45mm50mm 

Where they describe page layouts and don't seem to count that circle as one of the fields in each description. Also, are there any compound fields, where one of these rectangular or square fields shows more than one value at a time?

I'm trying to imagine how I would use this if I ever switched from my current FR255 which has more layouts and some things like ascent/descent info that can go into a single field.

    The circular data filed can be customized, though not with Connect IQ Simple Data Fields.

    As for multiple values on a single field - some CIQ data field apps are capable to toggle two (or more) values on the same position each couple of seconds (I use that technique too). Cramming two values at a time on the position would be theoretically possible with a CIQ app too, but in most cases not really practical, due to a very low resolution of the display (176×176 pixels) - there is simply not enough space unless you have two extremely short values.

    Thanks. So it sounds like each of their named layouts has one more field they didn't count.

    For compound fields, I was thinking about things like the ascent/descent gauge on my FR255 where it stacks two numbers into the rectangular fields, so e.g. I have two fields side by side that look something like:

    ASC. 123 ELEVATION
    DESC. 123 456

    where the left field is the ascent/descent gauge and the right field is elevation
