There is no option to delete a custom workout

There is no option to delete a custom workout on the watch it self. I had some workouts deleted from my phone but it was not getting synced on the phone.

To delete those in had to plug in the watch on a computer and manually find and delete the files.

  • There is no option to delete

There is. If you open an activity profile of type Other (for example Floor Climb), you can delete the workout from its menu » Training » Workouts » your workout » Delete.

  • Hi Trux, i'm talking about an option on the watch itself. i've deleted a workout more than once from the Mobile App but it didn't remove it from the watch.
This is the case that im trying to address there should be an option to delete it from the watch.

  • Deleting a workout from the mobile app doesn't automatically delete it from the watch. This is by design AFAIK, as deleting a workout from the watch doesn't delete it from the mobile app either.

You have the workout saved in two different locations (on the watch and at Garmin's Connect platform), so you need to remove it from both locations to have it completely gone.

  • Yeah this seems to be the behaviour which, personally i don't understand but we come back to my problem that  there is no option to delete it from the watch it self, you need to plug it and delete the files from a computer.
IMO the the default behaviour would be to have as many workouts you want on the phone and sync as many of them as you want with the watch. And of course you should be able to delete them from the watch's menu.

  • Hi Trux, i'm talking about an option on the watch itself.

What I described is exactly what you asked - deleting the workout directly on the watch itself.

  • Let me rephrase my issue, if you click GPS button on the watch and navigate to "Workouts"> "My Workouts"> select any custom workout out you have there. The only options available are "Do workout" , "View" and "Edit" there is no delete option.

Yes you can view or edit the workout which prompts you to check your phone. Yes there is an option to delete the work out there BUT it is not deleting the workout form the watch.

Not sure if this is a bug on my end, but this is the behaviour im noticing when following the above steps.

The only way to get rid of a custom workout from the watch it self is to plug it in on a computer and remove the file from its filesystem.

  • Please reread my initial post - I described exactly how you can delete a workout directly from the watch, in it.

  • That's definitely not the intended behavior. You shouldn't have to browse the filesystem to delete a workout. I just checked mine and it has a Delete option alongside View and Edit, which does just that: it deletes the workout from the watch (but not from the phone).

Something is wrong with the watch software. I'd try hard-resetting, but maybe trux has a better suggestion.

Resetting is not necessary.  just needs to follow the suggested instructions, because he is looking for the deletion on the wrong place. It is not available through the Workouts app, only though the Training » Workouts menu of an activity of the concerned type - any activity profile of the type "Other" for workouts of the type "Custom", in this case.

  • Hi trux,

The thing is, I checked, and the Delete option is available through the Workouts app. If I go to Workouts -> My Workouts, then select a workout I've synced to the watch, I get the options Do Workout, View, Edit, and Delete. That's why I think Spyros is right and it must be a bug or something.
