I myself am running a I3 Solar 50mm with 6.29. There is not problem updating OTA. As said in other threads, the bug on insufficient space is a bug of Express, not the device.

the current software is like one big beta still and watch has been hardly available/in delivery worldwide (outside US)
I do not know, but I got my I3 at Spain with no issues other than a bit of delay.
I'd be surprised if not. It's helpful to see what fixes or features are coming to address any issues I'm seeing. The Instinct 2 family has a beta, so it wouldn't make sense if the I3 didn't have it.
If/when there is a Beta, there will be an announcement. There’s a lot they can do from a software standpoint to differentiate this from the previous generations. I wonder if they’re trying to figure out a software solution to the displays that are off by 1 or 2 mm.
Either way, I would assume by March we’ll see something.
The current issue is that the official version has not been updated to the latest 6.29 version yet, for the 50mm Instinct 3 Solar.

Unfortunately, some users, including myself, were unable to upgrade from 6.28 to 6.29, either via computer or OTA. It seems that the issue is caused by insufficient storage space on the watch.
You can clean up the following folders, to make the needed room for the firmware update:
You could also remove some unneeded Connect IQ apps, if there are any
It should be sufficient for the update with Garmin Express, but if it does not work, got to System » Software Update directly on the watch, and check for the updates there. OTA updates have lower requirements for free memory than Garmin Express, but they still need some free room.

Based on previous forum feedback, a considerable number of users are experiencing the same issue as me even after resetting the device, the available storage does not exceed 16MB.
