Force firmware update?

Just got Instinct Solar 3. 10 days battery life only. I've read that a firmware update will fix it. Currently at 5.21.

How do I force the update? It's not happening on its own.

    Sync the device with your phone.  Then check on the watch under Settings>Update. You might need to sync the watch a few times or restart it.  A few days ago, I couldn't update via garmin express to 6.29 and got the out of space error many others did.  I then used my phone and the watch didn't show anything available.  So I turned off the wifi connection so the phone would only use LTE and then the update was available on the watch.

    Unfortunately, I ended up using an extra computer we have (I don't run windows) and was able to install and update using Garmin Express. I wish I had seen this answer sooner so I could test it.

    Bottom line: I have 6.29 installed now and 40 days of battery life. Thanks again for the reply. I hope someone can test it soon.
