Instinct 3 50mm Solar bugs

Hello

Here are a few bugs I've noticed on 6.28 firmware

- watch face solar intensity widget not working, solar glance intensity also not working. Lux hours are counted correctly

- solar intensity chart not updating unless there is a high intensity "event" / Lux hour changes

- date format seems to sometimes revert to mm dd yy from yy mm dd

- Any activity settings /Auto climb - data screen: shows invalid. watch restarts when selecting it.

  • Found some new:

    - manually enabling sleep mode seems to "disable" pulse ox measurement. At least I couldn't do it until I turned it back to normal mode. The measurements thinks a lot, led was visible in the dark so it did something but after circle filled it said couldn't measure

  • It seems to make more strange things as awaken this morning I've found:

    - HR sensor was disabled

    - phone connection was bugged, morning report shown calendar data but couldn't open calendar

    - sleep data is only visible on the watch but not on the phone

    - hrv baseline says interrupted but I did wear it full night

  • just check your power saver settings, maybe it disables OHR while sleeping? just a possibility. power save disables phone connection, so this would explain why no data on phone, no calendar accessible. I think I switched off power saver during sleep and all is ok (and this is all I2 experience but should stand)

  • I've checked, it was not on.

Have you tried a hard reset?

Syncing with Garmin Express on your computer?

    Factory reset?

  • Tried hard reset
Garmin Express was used to sync and also update to 6.28
Not factory reset. I imagine ill have to re-setup everything i changed (activities etc.) so I'd avoid for now

Are you aware of the recent issues with all garmin devices?

Maybe a factory reset would help, because my I3 AMOLED 50mm does not seem to have any of the bugs that you describe.

Also I would resync with garmin express again on the computer.

  • After re-enabling HR sensor (hours ago, circa time of post) it still said sensor is disabled in the respiration glance (just checked a few minutes ago)

I tried turning Battery saver on - off, HR sensor on off and after some time it started working again

  • Here are a few bugs I've noticed on 6.28 firmware

I received my instinct 3 Solar 50mm today.
As delivered, only 16.4 megabytes are free.
Express refused the update to 6.28 with an error message. Not enough free memory (the update has 16.5 megabytes).
I have carried out an unpromoted reset. Express then downloaded the update file to the watch. Including the gupdate file, 96 kbytes were still free.
After the update to 6.28, I now have 12.7 megabytes of free memory with the new watch.
Is that normal? Can someone please check his free memory?

  • Same here. Impossible to connect with an android phone, I was lucky with iOS. I also had the error in garmin express for the update. I have 12Mb free and a 1h running activity takes me 350kbs, do the calculations yourselves. I would have to remember to delete every 2 weeks the activities manually to make room, and better not to put many routes. The battery consumption is barely better than my 965 during 1h of activity (4% I3 vs 5% FR965, same configuration).

And it's another new Garmin model in which the structured training beeps are barely audible (the FR965 beeps are loud and clear).

What a joke of an expensive watch....

The MIP display is incredible, exceptional contrast and readability.

But the watch is going back to the shop. You have to do better, Garmin, you knew how to do it but now it seems you are only interested in the money in the short term.
