Instinct 3 with AMOLED now available!

Well...what a pleasant surprise!

3 different sizes and 3 different displays...or rather two. The old display is available with solar and without.

Tactical not out but the information on their website stae that the new Instincts have tactical features.

Colors are....interesting!

  • trux. This conversation goes nowhere. As said, you can read this and old threads here and in otjer sites and initial I3 reviews and you perfectly know it's not me. It's very hard to argue why we should buy this new version.

That last comment is the same as saying to all we  expected an upgrade to buy another watch, but not Instinct. Perhaps we had a big hope for a real improvement and not a very minor thing

  • you perfectly know it's not me. It's very hard to argue why we should buy this new version.

Exactly, it is not only you, so let people decide whether they think the watch is worth of buying or not. Either people will continue buying Instinct 3, or the devices will sit on the shelves without any buyers, and Garmin may then reconsider either the price or the features.

  • Exactly, it is not only you, so let people decide whether they think the watch is worth of buying or not.

What a pointless and universally applicable argument. Isn't it almost every product on earth that people decide whether it is worth buying for them or not, including bread? Current users have the right to be disappointed and express their dissatisfaction with the new model, whose price and functionality gap is widening compared to the competition. Garmin watches are becoming more expensive and offer fewer and fewer unique features than the competition. Another thing, looking at the marketing materials, Garmin seems to have forgotten about its core users and is more interested in making a fashion item from an Instinct than a utility product. The people who comment here are not wasting their time, they have Garmin in their hearts and want to support the brand and buy their products. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult.

  • Personally after seeing everything, I don’t believe this watch is anything more than an instinct 2.5. You would think even a simple functionality like be able to save a compass bearing would be a feature now on this watch as opposed to having the same type of compass as it did in the first generation. Garmin, unfortunately is just milking this product and they could be making it so much better.

  • Just go to the Garmin website and look at the pictures. The people they use to promote the new Instinct are NOT minimalists...they don't even look like athlets...they are the epitomy of the modern audience and the TikTok GenZ influencers. And they are most likely the ones who would buy the new topic-green color scheme....

It looks like Garmin has hired the Jaguar marketing team.

Isn't it practically what the feature "Sight 'N Go" does? That one is available on Instinct 3 as well as on Instinct 2.

  • Do you not realize that you sound insanely condescending at times with your comments, people aren’t stupid, stop treating them as such.

I’m very familiar with the feature set of the Instinct lineup, it’s the point that Garmin has done incremental updates with the Instinct lineup, milking it for as much as they can. 15 year old Casio Protreks can save a compass bearing.

  • Sorry, there was no offence intended. I was just curious whether you are aware of that feature, and whether it could help you. I have no crystal ball, so cannot know whether you are familiar with this specific function or not.

  • And if not the Sight 'N Go feature, what about the function "Lock Heading"? Or is it also something else than you are asking for?

It is the same function as found on other Garmin watches, like for example Epix 2, too:

  •  "Adding maps would shorten the battery life and/or drive the price up."

So happy for you that you purchased a sub-par product for a premium price. But your argument is obviously totally flawed, since adding maps does not shorten the battery life...using it might. But if you don't need them, don't use them.  And for the price, a 499$ watch should have maps when even much cheaper ones from the competition, one of them as cheap as 99$, has them and using the old E4 HR sensor is the pinnacle of ridonculousness.I think most people would be better off to get a Epix 7 pro.
